Governor Rick Perry will be signing his book " On My Honor" at Temple Inland's North Boggy Slough lodge this Saturday,
May 10th at 1pm. Each scout family attending will receive 1 signed copy. You can purchase the books in stores and bring
some for him to sign if you wish.
Governor Perry is a distinguished Eagle Scout and has written "On My Honor" to outline his feelings about the
scouting program. We look forward to a strong scout showing at this event. Please wear class A uniforms.
The North Boggy Slough lodge is located on Highway 103 / 7 west just past the Neches River bridge on the left (coming
from Lufkin).
The Troop 518 patch is an option for the scouts in Troop, Pack, and Crew 518 and replaces the existing patch and troop number.

SUMMER CAMP NEWS
El Rancho Cima Camp in the Texas Hill Country June 8th--14th. All monies should have been turned in by May 5, 2008. Each scout
will still need to bring $20 for traveling expenses, plus a little extra for a meal on the way there & on the way back.
Mr. Cotton is allowing electronics (PSP players, CD players w/headsets, etc.) to be brought along ONLY for the duration of
the trip but must be left inside the vehicle for the week of camp. Also, scouts do not have to bring a tent with them for
summer camp as it will be provided by El Rancho Cima, but it will be necessary to bring a cot. They will have cots for rent
at about $7 for the week if a scout does not have one.
The address is 5800 Ranch Road 32, Fischer, Texas 78623.
It is about 180 miles west of Houston. Take I-10 to Luling & Hwy.80 to San Marcos. From San Marcos, take Ranch Road
12 ten miles West to the intersection of Ranch Road 12 & 32. Continue west on Ranch Road 32 for five miles. You will come
to El Rancho Cima's gate on your right at the bottom of the hill just past the Devil's Backbone rest area. Continue on the
entrance road and go left at the Ranger's house. Turn left at the Horseshoe Bend sign to go to Horseshoe or continue on to
Cockrell River Camp.
